I. Acceptable Usage Terms and Service Scope
This section defines the intended and permissible use of the XIS EDGE Managed Hosting Service, including the types of digital platforms supported and the acceptable utilization of our proprietary resources.
1.1 Permitted Use (Managed WordPress Hosting)
The XIS EDGE Managed Hosting service is designed for, and must be used for, the operation of standard, high-performance WordPress websites. This includes, but is not limited to, the following high-value applications:
- Membership Platforms: Websites requiring secure user login, content gating, and recurring user subscriptions.
- E-commerce Stores: Online shops running WooCommerce or similar platforms, facilitating standard transaction volumes.
- Branded Digital Hubs: Centralized microsites, often utilizing domains like edgely.link, for professional link-in-bio pages, promotional portals, or specialized landing pages.
- Client Projects: Hosting and development environments for client websites managed by agencies and developers.
1.2 Branded Link Usage (Edgely.Link Subdomains)
When you are provided with a dedicated yourname.edgely.link subdomain, the license for use is granted specifically for the following purposes:
- To host content generated exclusively by the associated Managed WordPress installation.
- To serve as a core link in social media profiles, print materials, or email signatures.
- The content must clearly correspond to the client’s primary brand identity and be actively maintained.
II. Prohibited Activities and General Resource Constraints
2.1 Prohibited Content and Malicious Activity
Clients may not use the hosting service to store, link to, or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, promotes illegal acts, infringes on third-party intellectual property rights, or hosts any form of phishing, malware, or spamming scripts.
2.2 Unacceptable Background Tasks
The following activities are strictly prohibited on managed hosting plans as they disproportionately consume shared resources:
- Cryptocurrency mining, blockchain nodes, or scientific computing simulations.
- Using the server purely for long-term storage or serving files unrelated to the active website content.
- Running unoptimized and non-essential automated scripts that place undue load on the server resources.
III. Managed Service and Data Responsibility
3.1 Core Managed Services Provided
XIS EDGE is responsible for proactive, continuous platform maintenance, which includes:
- Server Core Updates: Timely patching and maintenance of the underlying operating system and server software.
- Security Monitoring: Continuous, platform-level scanning for security vulnerabilities and intrusion attempts.
- Optimization: Ongoing caching and performance tuning to ensure high speed and reliability.
3.2 Client Responsibility for WordPress and Plugins
While the underlying server is managed, the Client retains full responsibility for the following aspects of their WordPress installation:
- Core, Theme, and Plugin Updates: Applying all patches and updates to the WordPress core, themes, and plugins in a timely manner.
- Configuration Errors: Resolving issues arising from custom code, conflicts between plugins, or incorrect WordPress settings.
3.3 Data Backup Policy
- Host Backups: XIS EDGE performs automated, full-site backups stored offsite for disaster recovery purposes.
- Client Data Responsibility: The Client is ultimately responsible for maintaining their own independent, local copies of all website files and database content.
IV. Financial and Domain Management
4.1 14-Day Risk-Free Assessment Period (Refund Policy)
We offer a 14-Day Risk-Free Assessment Period on all new Managed Hosting subscriptions.
- Refund Eligibility: If the hosting service is cancelled within this initial 14-day window (starting from the purchase date), a full refund of the hosting service fee will be issued.
- Non-Refundable Items: Domain registration fees, setup fees, and charges for any third-party software purchased through our platform are non-refundable.
4.2 Domain Quarantine Upon Cancellation (Edgely.Link Specific)
If you cancel your hosting subscription and your dedicated edgely.link name is relinquished:
- 5-Day Quarantine Period: The deactivated edgely.link name immediately enters a short 5-day quarantine period.
- Re-registration Status: During the 5-day quarantine, the name is reserved and cannot be re-registered or re-allocated to any party, including the former owner.
- Availability: After the 5-day quarantine period expires, the dedicated name will be made publicly available for re-registration by any XIS EDGE client on a first-come, first-served basis.
4.3 Enforcement and Compliance
XIS EDGE reserves the right to monitor account usage to ensure compliance. Violations of this policy will result in a warning and a limited period for client remediation. Failure to comply may lead to account suspension or termination.
